Duty gear refers to the equipment used by police officers for defence. It is essential for the police to have the right type of equipment while they are on duty as the police rely on this duty gear for their safety and security. A large number of products are included as part of duty gear.
1. Handcuffs- These are the most common duty gear that every policeman carries while on duty. A handcuff is used to hold a person’s wrists together so that they cannot easily move. Handcuffs consist of two parts which are joined by a chain or a hinge. All handcuffs are provided with safety locks.
2. Helmets- They are strong headgears that protect the police from sudden attacks. Helmets are available in different sizes and styles.
3. Pepper spray- These sprays are made by mixing tear gas, pepper and dye. They are the best available duty gear for self defence. They are easy to use and of good quality.
4. Gloves- They are clothing worn on hands to protect the hands from heat and cold. They protect the person’s hands from any type of physical injury, provide comfort and help in getting a better grip of things.
5. Holster- A holster is a type of clothing or a device that stops unwanted movement of articles. Police use holsters to hold weapons or other devices that may harm someone.
6. Baton- A baton is a striking weapon used by the police or military for self defence.
7. Gun Grips- They are provided in firearms so that the firearms can be held easily. Gun grips are available in different sizes and styles.
8. Gun rails- Gun rails are the equipments used as mounting platforms in firearms. They enable the police to mount binoculars, scopes etc. on firearms for better vision.
9. Metal detectors- They are the duty gear that are used to detect weapons like guns or knives. The metal detectors use a method called electromagnetic induction in order to detect the presence of a metal.
10. Duty belt- A duty belt is used to carry and easily access weapons or essential equipments. The advantage of using a duty belt is that the hands are free to perform any other type of task.
11. Tactical vests- These are the clothing that protect the torsos of the police men.
12. Knee pads- Knee pads are the protective duty gear that is worn on the knees to protect them from getting injured in case of a fall or attack.
13. Elbow pads- These are padded gear that prevent elbows from getting any injury during an attack or when a person falls.
14. Weapon lights- They are special equipment that can be mounted over firearms to have a better vision of the target that has to be hit.
In addition to the above listed duty gear products, several other are available in the market. Duty gear can be purchased from any store dealing in duty gear or can be ordered online. A major consideration when purchasing duty gear is the quality of the products. Good quality duty gear is necessary for complete safety of the person using the duty gear product. Duty gear must be affordable and designed according to specifications. All duty gear must be comfortable to use and should protect the person using it from any type of negative elements.
