There are mounts that lock around the barrel and have a rail on top. However, you can find a decent BB gun with a scope already mounted for what it will cost you to mount a scope on an older gun.
You need a mount. If I were you I would buy the cheapest mount you can (probably a Tasco) because it is only a BB gun.
Your rifle should have a dovetail mounting aperture that looks something like this __/ and you would connect the cheepie tasco mount to that.
