Anything will work. How much do you want to spend? Are you shooting close range or long range? A 4x scope will work for close range. A variable range scope will work for longer ranges, 4-12x. Bushnell makes a good one. Inexpensive and clear. The more you spend the better they get. Some are simple some are complicated.
I would think you would want open sights for Boar hunting. Most are taken at close range being under 50 yards. They move fast and using a scope at close range on a fast moving target would be pointless. I would personally go with a 30-30 for Boar hunting.
Since you will be using this gun mostly for Boar Hunting, I would go with a nice fixed power scope. Alot of your shots will be closer than maybe Deer Hunting. Also, In the moment dealing with a Big Nasty Hog you dont want to be tinkering with your scope. I have a nice fixed 6×42 Swarovski (there are some cheaper ones available) on my new Marlin XLR . 450 Marlin. I have been laying some swine down with it here in Tejas.
Definately depends on how much money you plan on spending. I have a Leupold scope on my weatherby
Good scopes for the price.
VariX 2 or 3 3 x 9 x 40mm would be good.
Good Hunting. . .
Shooting hogs tends to be a close-in proposition, and often the action is fast. I’d recommend the Leupold VariX II in 2-7x. That’s a good quality commensurate with your rifle, and you want to avoid more magnification. Even then you may occasionally cuss the field of view and wish you had something more like 1-4x on those really close running shots in cover, typical of hog hunting. If you want to spend a bit more, then the same company has a 1. 75-6x in the VariX III line that would be even better.

Better put some quality glass on top of that weatherby. It will look kind of stupid to have a Weatherby with a stinking Tasco or Braska on it.
