Anything from Leupold, Nikon and some Bushnells. With some of the Leupolds you can actually sight the scope in with your caliber and the grain of bullet you are using so that might make it a bit easier.
I run a gun shop and sell everything from the top to the bottom. You really should be more descriptive in what your looking for. It’s hard to give rec’s without knowing the caliber, type or conditions you most commonly hunt in. That being said I’ll still answer your question as if I already know those things. First thing you should consider is price. What’s your price range? This can make a HUGE difference in the type and quality of scope you purchase. Personally for the money I feel that NIKON has the best offerings. Leupold while a good scope and a staple in the hunting community is just not cost effective for MOST hunters. I would say a Nikon Pro Staff scope in at least 3-9×40 as it will give you the best compromise in FOV(field of view) and magnification. Their are plenty of options out their and I encourage you to goto your local gun shop(NOT WAL-MART AND NOT A SPORTING GOODS STORE) and talk to the people their. These guys do this stuff for a living, they know what works.
You’re a heck of a lot more likely to shoot a hog at 4 yards than at 400, so a low power with a wide field of view is essential. I’ve been impressed with the Leupold VX2 2-7x as an affordable pick.
I agree with Terry as far as scope selection and with John de Witt as well. Typically wild boar are not shot at extreme distances, but rather at short range. It also depends upon what type of rifle you are using as well. Most people who hunt wild boar will tell you that nothing less than . 30 caliber is adequate (although I’m sure that a number of belted magnums such as 7 mm Remington and a few of the Winchester WSM calibers would suffice).
Nikon Pro Staff 3-9×40 w/BDC reticle. Best bang for your buck. Almost as clear as a big $ Leupold, won’t fog up in freezing temps. Great scope for the $.
