Go with a bolt action, maybe a Savage and a decent scope. If you want both open sights and a scope get the high mount scope rings. You look under the rings to use the open sights. You might find a used semi auto. They are limited to box magazines because you can’t use a tube magazine in a caliber with a pointed bullet. I had bad luck with a Remington 7400 (jamomatic) but good luck with a Browning safari.
