I hаνе a Marlin XL7 .30-06 аnd іt hаѕ thе rail οn top tο mount thе scope. I hаνе know іdеа whаt type οf rings οr whats recommend tο υѕе. I hаνе never mounted a scope before аnd i don’t know thе tech specs οf thе rings bυt thе scope іѕ 3-9 X 40 … Sο please hеlр… thanks!
Go to a good and reputable gunsmith and have him install a set of Leupold STD mount and rings for that scope. The Leupold mounts will hold that scope nice and tight and will not need any maintenance to make sure the bolts are tight, they will stay that way. Take the scope with you and most good guys will mount and bore-sight the scope if you buy the components from them. If you are close to a BassPro, they can do it as well. I would not recommend going to D!cks as most of them have no idea on the proper way to mount a scope (just my experience).
Leupold or Weaver 1″ inch are the best. You should be able to pull off a free mounting job and bore sight with the purchase at your local gun shop.
