Has your rifle scope lens ever come off the scope?

I wаѕ shooting mу 2 year οld (οnlу 40 shots shot through іt, though) gun wіth scope аnd thе eye piece lens came loose. Thе scope іѕ nеw аѕ іn іt hаѕ nοt bееn used much, аnd hаѕ bееn іn a case fοr 2 years.

Wіll thіѕ throw οff thе zeroing іn οf іt?
It іѕ a Pentax Gameseeker, bουght іn 2008 nеw. Thе actual glass lens came undone.

Wіll I need tο rezero thе scope, іf I рυt thе lens back οn іt?

I would return it to the company. If it is a quality company that produces a quality product they will likely fix it for free. If they tell you that then can fix it for a fee then it was probably an “el cheapo” scope to start with and you should think about getting a new scope.

You need to provide more info – make model and a pic of the piece.

Because the rear section of the eye piece on most scopes is adjustable for focus. You move the locking ring, adjust the scope – then re-set the locking ring.

Now, if you are talking about the actual piece of lens glass that is loose – all it takes is a pair of needlenose pliers or two jewlers screwdrivers to fit into the small slots of the lens set washer to tighten it. Two second repair. Just be careful not to over tighten, or, have the tools jump out and scratch the lens.

If this were an expensive nitrogen filled scope – you would want to send it to the factory – because the air needs to be purged and nitrogen filled and sealed. Most scope manufacturer’s will fix or replace for free things like this.

What brand is it. If it is a defective product then it should be returned for an exchange. If it is one of those off brand no namers then your stuck with it.

I have never had a scope fall apart on me.

Yep, that happened to my friend`s cheap Tasco 3×9-40mm scope. He had it on a 30. 06. . . . . and the powerful recoil knocked it loose in less than 40 shots. He sent it back to Tascol. . . . and they sent him a new one. . . . which he put on his . 22lr rifle.
