When sighting a scope, why do you want it 1 inch above at 100 yards?

I wаѕ watching a video whеrе іt ѕаіd уου want thе bullet tο hit 1 inch above thе target аt 100 yards…whу іѕ thіѕ?

    Personal preference. Depends on how far you think you’ll usually be.

    so you will still hit the “target” when it is further away or up/down hill.

    Because gravity acts on the bullet the instant it leave the barrel causing it to accelerate downward.

    Because with most high powered rifles. If it is an inch high at 100 yds it will be right on at 200 yds. At 3 hundred yards depend on the caliber and bullet weight. It will drop only a few inches. Hope this helps.
