yes u can zoom in 3 times as much as if u were Just to have the Straight 3 power scope. so how far your scope zooms in now it will zoom in 3 times that, idk if its necessary though because its an air rifle idk how far you are shooting but 30 bucks isn’t too much i would think about getting it i know i would want it
depends on you and how you prefer to shoot, some people are better without a scope, some only need the cross-heirs in a weak scope and can shoot good at a distance others like good high precision scopes.
If you are shooting over 200 yds it would probably be worth putting a variable power scope on it. Otherwise 3x should be good enough if you eyes are normal.
one of the items you never skimp on is a scope. you try to always get good glass. cheap scopes are very unreliabel and seldom or accurate. there is a web site entitled swfa. they sell used and trade in scopes. you should be able to get a good deal on a better scope
