spending $50 οr $300+ οn thе same magnification аnd type οf scope mаkе a dіffеrеnсе? I hаνе used such scopes аѕ cheap tasco’s аnd expensive simmons wіth thе same results. thеу always stay οn target аnd I hаνе never hаd аnу problems wіth еіthеr. ѕο іѕ spending ѕο much money really worth іt οr аrе уου јυѕt paying fοr thе name?
American psycho thаt іѕ nο tattoo, іt іѕ a real spider οn mу hand. I dο hаνе tattoo’s οf spiders bυt thе one іn thіѕ picture іѕ real. I аlѕο collect/breed tarantula’s .

I think you are paying for the name. Though there have been some cases where my Tasco scope failed me. It was a time when I was hiking up a mountain with snow around. I slipped a little and snow scuffed up on my scope. Later we saw some deer. My scope was so foggy and bad I could not see the see through my scope. So no matter what brand you get always get scope covers so that you won’t miss out.
No.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think the human eye exists that will tellt eh difference betweeen a Zeiss and a Redfield in perfect conditions. . . . .
BUT
it is in the less than Ideal, when a gun gets dropped that I notice the advantage of things like Leupolds over Tascos. More rugged, Clearer, better light gain in poor conditions, etc.
That said I do feel many people do go overboard. Jack OConnor took many a dear without the newest illuminated recticle self adjusting wind doping Slay O MAtic 57 from Zeiss.
But Where I have had a Tasco fall apart after 100 full house rounds of 44 mag in my lever action, I have had my old Leupold variax 2 3×9 30mm for 15 years and over a thousand much more brutal rounds from my 45-70.
whats with the spider tatoo?
I’m having trouble trying to imagine Simmons as an expensive scope!
There are (or can be) huge differences in: parallax adjustment, MOA adjustment, vertical and horizontal adjustment, clarity, durability, moisture and fog proofing, as well as the ability to absorb repetitive recoil without going out of adjustment.
If I were to hold up a dozen different scopes and look through them, I could tell you, instantly, which one, or ones, had the better quality optics.
Once I started setting them up, I’d know beyond a shadow of a doubt which were better, and which were not. Everybody realizes that the American military spends millions of dollars, every year, on unmistakably high quality rifle scopes – Right! (Wish I could afford one!)
I would say it depends on the rifle.
I’ve demolished two cheaper $500 scopes on the 50BMG before I broke down and bought the Leupold MK4. No problems since.
I have an AR with a nice Bushnell Elite and an old beater flat-top with an NcStar. Both will hold up to the 223 all day.
Put a Tasco on your DE and see if it lives.
simmons makes an expensive scope? bushnell makes an elite series that is good, I have several Burris and they are great, first off what are you putting it on and what are you willing to pay?
