I hаνе bουght, аnd sold more guns thаt I саn hοnеѕtlу keep even a remote count οn. Somewhere іn thе neighborhood οf 100. ( I wеnt though a “manic” phase whеrе I wаѕ trading guns nearly еνеrу month)
Mine іѕ a sporterized 1917 Enfield 30-06 wіth аn οld Weaver K4 scope οn top. I hаνе hаd thаt rifle ѕіnсе I wаѕ 10, іt wаѕ thе one I wаѕ taught tο hunt wіth. And whіlе іt іѕ semi-retired, I still bring hеr out іntο thе woods frοm time tο time.
Jυѕt curious whаt guns οthеr fellow hunters find аrе irreplaceable.
whаt’s up wіth thіѕ “јυѕt pick one” concept? Jυѕt bесаυѕе I οnlу hаνе one gun I currently consider аn heirloom, doesn’t mean I wουld expect everyone еlѕе tο. Shoot ѕhουld I еνеr hаνе kids, maybe thеу wіll consider mу Guide Gun аnd Bisley аѕ heirlooms.

I have several.
One is a 80 year old S&W Brazilian contract 1917 45acp revolver.
Another is a Soviet VEPR, since they banned importation of them, mine is getting rarer by the minute.
I have a 40 year old Savage model 24 that’s a fast favorite.
A few more that I would never consider selling.
Yes a few like my Winchester model 67a that my dad taught all 4 of his boy how to shoot with, my dad’s 2nd year of production Ruger Bearcat, a Walther P-38 brought back from the war, a Colt Trooper MKIII that my oldest brother carried in Vietnam while with Special Forces and a Ruger Blackhawk in . 45 Colt that I’ve had for way to many years now.
Just curious, is anyone else reporting that ninjq asshole, or just giving her thumbs down? She needs to reported as well as thumbs downed to get her removed. Take the extra 15 seconds and send a report. Thanks. This is the only way to get these assholes out of this section.
I have several, but number 1 on my list of “Pets” is a Winchester Model 94 Rifle that was my Great Grandfathers. It was made in 1897 and came to California from Missouri in the back of a wagon before the turn of the last century 1900. I make a point to kill a buck with it every year. It was my number 1 “Pig Gun” until about 15years ago when it was retired for a B. A. R. in . 30-06, I needed something that would reach out just a little further and hit just a little harder. My son is next in line for this rifle, but not quite yet.
i have a sawed off (legal)Mossberg Maverick 12g with a vented barrel shield and a pressure switch on the pump for the led light mounted under the barrel i customized myself,, i call it my home defense sh## ender
I have a few that have been in the family for some time. One should see its 6th generation of shooters soon.
Oh jeez, if it has to be only one. . .
It would be the 1899 Krag Jorgensen my great grandfather carried into WWI with him.
Funny thing. . . even as old as it is, it still will drill holes in targets just as well as any Remington 700 or Savage 110.
Two. . . one would be my SIG P6, an old West German police trade-in made in 1980, which I have NEVER had a single issue with, and the other would be an old Mauser I own. It’s a double date-stamped Mauser 98, made in Amberg in 1916, updated in 1920 (Weimar Republic upgrade of the Gewehr 98 rifles), and bubba chopped the stock up to use it for hunting. It has no monetary or collector value, but it’s the first centerfire rifle I’ve owned and for all I know, my great-grandfather could’ve carried it (my grandmother was born in Germany around 1920, so it’s a possibility, albeit improbable).
Funny you should ask, yeah I have a couple, one is my 13 year old son’s . 243 that he killed his first deer with, but that’s really not mine even though I did buy it and it’s in my name I would never sell it unless I needed an extra 500. 00 bucks for a family medical emergency. Myself I have a absolutely gorgeous Ruger 10/22 custom job that will put every bullet in the same hole from a good bench and just fits me perfectly (hmm guess that’s cause it was built for me) this gun is so accurate that it seems as if at times I don’t even have to aim. . . LOL. . . I also have a Marlin . 17HMR Bolt action that is almost as good at the shorter range and even better at 100 yards than my Ruger, Both have 4x Leupold scopes. I have a Customized THompson Breech loader . 280rem with a 26″ fluted barrel and a tailored trigger job just for me, it is a little on the heavy side and it has a Swarovski scope and I got to tell ya that within 500 yards or less when I dial those cross hairs in, well let’s just say if it was breathing before it’s not anymore. It will kill farther than that but I don’t shoot game that far for risk of not making a humane one shot one kill.
Past Guns: I have had the privilege of owning and selling/trading well over 100 firearms and there are 4 that I would give almost anything to have back: 1st is my very first gun a . 410 that my father bought me when I was 8,
2nd: is my 1st 12 gauge single barrel that my grandmother bought me when I was 12.
3rd is my 1st Remington 870 12 gauge that my granfather bought me.
and last but certainly not least was my first deer rifle from my father a 1903 Springfield 30-06.
I would trade nearly my whole collection of currently around 30 firearms if I could go back and not have turned into a stupid teenager and sold them. . . . . UH I KICK MYSELF, IN FACT I’M FIXING TO GET UP FROM HERE AND KICK MY @$$ RIGHT NOW , SO I GOTTA GO.
I have a few that i don’t want to ever sell but that could change if a bad situation that I desperately needed money for ever came about. I also have a few family heirlooms that my dad would kill me if I ever sold such as my grandmothers 1971 ruger bearcat revolver and my grandpas arminius hw7 revolver.
Well have a few that were given down to me from my Father and Grandfather , when they were in the military.
But If it is only ONE , then it would be my fathers Barrett M82A1M. I love this baby, I have had this for about 4 years now; ever since my dad died.
None of them have pet names or anything. But I feel that way about all my guns. Each one serves its own specific purpose.
Unfortunately with me being broke cubed I’m sizing them up for sale. It just kills me that they are all in mint or near mint condition and my best offers have been 40 cents on the dollar what I paid for them.
Pet gun?. . . . . Hmmm. . . . . Yeah — Now that you ask and make me think about it. . . .
I have ton of firearms. . . . . The one I practice the most with and resides behind my bedroom door is my Mossberg 500 8 shot Persuader. . . . When out inspecting the property or going for a ride at night to the downtown warehouse its the one gun that always comes along for the ride. . . . .
This unit here. . . . .

WOW. . . I don’t know if I could pick just one. The ones passed down from my father and grandfather would be extremely hard to let go of, especially grandpa’s model 94. I also have a pretty big attachment to my single shot . 22 and . 410 that I learned to shoot with. They were probably the cheapest guns in my collection, but the sentimental attachment is huge.
Kongsberg Salong 22. LR from 1886
English Royal shotgun, given to my grandfathers uncle for his service in the war. Made in 1920 or something. 20 gauge.
