Browning. . . BAR. . . Browning Automatic Rifle. IF this is a true BAR then it could be worth about $15,000 or more. Fully automatic rifles such as the BAR are quite rare in good condition. The owner of such a weapon is required by the BATF&E to have a background check before obtaining the fully auto rifle and pay a $200 fee for the check. Hope your are the “lawful” owner of such a fine weapon. Loads of history behind the BAR. . . do a google on John Moses Browning for all his inventions.
I have a duplicate of yours except that it has a 6x burris scope. It is in excellent shape and is worth about a thousand bucks in todays dollars. Only thing about it I don’t like is it takes a whole evening to clean it and reassemble it and yada; whine, whine, whine.
